A WOLF AND A DOG
v ORIENTATION
:
Once there was a wolf who was nearly
dead with hunger. He was very thin, so that the outline of his bones could be
seen clearly beneath his thinning coat of hair. With hardly enough energy to
walk, the wolf had little hope of finding food.
v COMPLICATION
:
As he lay beneath a large tree, a
dog out for a walk noticed him. Seeing how thin and hungry-looking the wolf
was, the dog felt sorry for him and said, "You are in terrible shape! You
look as if you haven't eaten for many days."
"You're right," said the
wolf. "I haven't eaten because you and your friends are doing such a good
job of guarding the sheep. Now I am so weak that I have little hope of finding
food. I think I will surely die."
Then why not join us? Asked the dog.
"I work regularly and I eat regularly. You could do the same. I will
arrange it. You can help me and the other dogs guard the sheep. In that way, we
won't have to worry about your stealing the sheep anymore and you won't have to
worry about going hungry any more. It's a good deal for both of us."
The wolf thought it over for a few
minutes and then decided that the dog was right. So they went off together
toward the ranch house where the dog lived.
v COMPLICATION
:
But, as they were walking, the wolf
noticed that the hair on a certain part of the dog's neck was very thin. He was
curious about this, for the dog had such a beautiful coat everywhere else.
Finally, he asked the dog about it.
"Oh, don't worry about
that," said the dog. "It's the place where the collar rubs on my neck
when my master chains me up at night."
"Chained up!" cried the
wolf, "Do you mean that you are chained up at night? If I come to live
with you, will I be chained up at night too?"
That's right," answered the
dog. "But, You'll get used to it soon enough. I hardly think about it
anymore."
v RESOLUTION
:
"But,
if I am chained up, then I won't be able to walk when I want to take a walk or
to run where I want to run," the wolf said. "If I come to live with
you, I won't be free anymore." After saying this, the wolf turned and ran
away.
Moral: Positive freedom is
everything!

SEEKOR SERIGALA DAN SEEKOR ANJING
v ORIENTASI
:
"Kondisi kamu sangat mengerikan! Kamu tampak seolah-olah belum makan
selama berhari-hari."
"Kau benar," kata serigala. "Aku belum makan
"Diikiat!" teriak serigala, "Maksud kamu
bahwa kamu dirantai di malam hari? Jika saya datang untuk tinggal dengan kamu,
saya juga akan dirantai di malam hari?"
"Itu benar," jawab anjing. Tapi, kamu akan
terbiasa untuk itu cukup cepat. Saya tidak berpikir tentang hal itu lagi.
"
v RESOLUSI
:
"Tapi, jika saya dirantai, maka

NOBODY LAUGHS AT A LION
ORIENTATION :
In the cool of the morning, on the edge of the jungle, the
animals were busy as can be. They were running and racing, climbing and
clambering, crawling and creeping all over the place.
COMPLICATION
:
Pa Lion sat and watched. “You can see why I’m crowned as the
jungle’s king,” he said. “The reason is, I’m the best one in doing this
difficult task.” “Do stop boasting,” said Ma Lion. “I ask you, if you are the
best one, I just want to know where are you best at?” The question made Pa Lion
thought hard for a second. “Well, running for a start. You just watch this.”
Soon after that, Pa Lion jumped into the high grass, causing all animals fear.
As Pa Lion ran, the sleek, long-legged cheetah raced past him
with ease, and Cheetah laughed. He laughed quietly, because nobody laughs out
loud at a lion. But Pa Lion heard him. “All right,” said Pa Lion, rather
annoyed. “Cheetah might be just a little bit better at running. But I’m best
at… at climbing trees. Look!”. Pa Lion dug his great claws into the nearest
tree and scrambled and scartched and scrabbled, and slowly heaved himself up on
to the lowest branch.
Monkey was swinging by his tail in the highest branches of
the tree, and he saw Pa Lion climbing and he sniggered. He sniggered quietly,
because nobody sniggers out loud at a lion. But Pa Lion heard him. “All right,”
said Pa Lion, grumpily. “Monkey mught be just a little bit better at climbing
trees. But I‘m the best at… at creeping through the long grass, quiet as
quiet.”
COMPLICATION
:
Pa Lion dropped into a low crouch, then, crawling and
creeping, slow as slow quiet as quiet, he moved through the long grass. Snake
was slipping through the grass, smooth and silent as a high. He saw Pa Lion
crawling and creeping, and he smiled. He smiled to himself, because nobody smiles
at a lion. But Pa Lion saw him. Pa Lion began to feel angry. “Okay,” he said.
“I think, snakes are the animal that may have a better ability in creeping
through the long grass, quiet as quiet. But I am the best at… at…” “You are
very good at sleeping,” said Ma Lion. “It shouldn’t be counted, “said Pa Lion.
Then he said, “I am the strongest. Watch me.” He pushed his
great head against the trunk of a small tree, bending it until it broke with a
loud crack! Elephant was plodding past, leaving a trail of flattened bushes and
broken trees in his path. He saw Pa Lion and he lifted his trunk and trumpeted.
He trumpeted softly, because not even an elephant trumpets out loud at a lion.
But Pa Lion heard him.
RESOLUTION
:
Now Pa Lion was furious. “Okay,” he said. “I know that..
Elephant is an animal that just a little bit stronger. But I am the best at…
the best at… Oh! I can’t think of anything! “It really makes me want to… ROAR!”
and the sound of Pa Lion’s roar rolled and rumbled and grew and grumbled and
echoed and thundered through the jungle. Pa Lion was the very, very best at
roaring. Cheetah stopped laughing, and Monkey stopped sniggering, and Snake
stopped smiling, and Elephant stopped trumpeting. And Pa Lion was happy at
last… because nobody laughs at a lion.
Moral : Never underestimate the ability of others, because each person must have the ability and the advantages of each. |
TAK ADA YANG MENERTAWAI SINGA
ORIENTASI :
sibuk. Mereka berlari, berkejaran, memanjat, merangkak, merayap dan
mengendap-endap.
KOMPLIKASI
:
Pak Singa sedang duduk dan mengamati mereka. “Kamu mengerti
bukan, mengapa aku dijuluki si Raja Hutan. Semua itu karena akulah yang
terhebat.” “Berhenti menyombongkan diri. Lagipula kamu terbaik saat melakukan
apa?” ucap Bu Singa. Pak Singa berpikir sejenak. “Baiklah, aku mulai dengan
berlari. Kamu lihat saja.” Pak Singa segera meloncat ke rumput-rumput yang
tinggi, menyebabkan semua hewan ketakutan.
Tetapi Pak
Singa mendengarnya.
RESOLUSI
:
Sekarang Pak Singa sangat marah. “Baiklah,” katanya. “Mungkin
Gajah memang sedikit lebih kuat. Tetapi aku tetap terbaik dalam… terbaik dalam…
Oh! Aku tidak bisa berpikir!” “Itu membuatku sangat ingin meng… AUUUM!” dan
auman Pak Singa menggemuruh, menderu, menggema dan menggelegar bagaikan petir
di dalam hutan. Pak Singa ternyata sangat sangat hebat dalam mengaum. Cheetah
menertawai singa!
Pesan Moral : Jangan pernah
meremehkan kemampuan orang lain, karena setiap orang pasti mempunyai
kemampuan dan kelebihan masing-masing.

A MOUSE
AND A LION
v ORIENTATION

Lion angry grabbed the mouse and,
holding him in his large claws, roared in anger. 'How dare you wake me up!
Don't you know that I am King of the Beasts? Anyone who disturbs my rest

The terrified mouse, shaking and
trembling, begged the lion to let him go. 'Please don't eat me Your Majesty! I
did not mean to wake you, it was a mistake. I was only playing. Please let me
go - and I promise I will be your friend forever. Who knows but one day I could
save your life?' The lion looked at the tiny mouse and laughed. 'You save my
life? What an absurd idea!' he said scornfully.
v RESOLUTION
:
'But you have made me laugh, and put
me into a good mood again, so I shall let you go.' And the lion opened his claws
and let the mouse go free.
'Oh thank you, your majesty,'

Sambil membusungkan
dadanya, si Kancil pun mulai berjalan menuruni bukit. Ketika sampai di sungai,
ia bertemu dengan seekor siput. “Hai kancil !”, sapa si siput. “Kenapa kamu
teriak-teriak?
“Hahahaha......., mana mungkin” ledek Kancil.
“Untuk membuktikannya, bagaimana kalau besok pagi kita lomba lari?”, tantang si
Siput. “Baiklah, aku terima tantanganmu”, jawab si Kancil. Akhirnya mereka
berdua setuju untuk mengadakan perlombaan lari besok pagi.

Akhirnya si kancil berlari, tetapi tiap ia panggil si siput,
Keringatnya
bercucuran, kakinya terasa lemas dan nafasnya tersengal-sengal. Kancil berlari
terus, sampai akhirnya dia melihat garis finish. Wajah kancil sangat gembira
“Hai kancil, kenapa kamu lama sekali? Aku sudah sampai dari tadi!”, teriak si
siput.
v RESOLUSI
:
